The Economic Development Project Manager will serve as the company representative on economic development projects, assisting community partners in positioning new or expanding company locations within the service territory. This role involves coordinating assignments related to economic development strategy, information sharing, and customer service to government and community professionals.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead and strengthen the PPL, LG&E, KU and RI economic development mission and goals.
- Advance communities’ preparedness regarding project management, sites, buildings, and infrastructure needs.
- Acquire utility specific site information and respond to project inquiries on infrastructure, tariffs, rates, policies, and practices.
- Develop rapport and act as a liaison with state economic development cabinets, community constituents, site consultants, and real estate executives.
- Foster relationships with external stakeholders to improve competitive positioning for site locations.
- Represent the company at business attraction and marketing events to promote the service territory for new business.
- Increase electric and gas revenue through economic development project opportunities.
- Cultivate internal company expertise on policies, tariffs, practices, regulations, and system operations for prospective customers.
- Acquire and contact leads utilizing interpersonal skills, marketing, and computer-enhanced research methods.
- Develop, execute, and potentially start service plans for each assigned project.
Requirements
- Proficient written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organization skills with focus on customer service and time management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Public Administration, Engineering or related field
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in direct economic development, redevelopment, real estate, public affairs, or business operations
- Familiarity with database applications, MS Office, presentations, and meeting facilitation
- Basic economic development knowledge
