Manage complex employee benefits clients as the primary service contact, ensuring client satisfaction and providing leadership to accounts. This role involves strategic planning, negotiating terms with insurance carriers, and providing strong technical expertise to clients and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage a complex book of business with various funding methods and advanced contract features
- Act as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers, providing best-in-class service
- Provide strong technical expertise on employee benefits to clients and the Account Management and Sales Executive team
- Manage client renewals and negotiate terms and conditions with carriers
- Lead client meetings regarding renewals and utilization reports
- Champion client cross-selling initiatives and develop customer accounts
- Serve as a technical expert on all Compliance topics including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, and Health Care Reform
- Develop and deliver periodic training content to other service team members
Requirements
- 4+ years experience in employee benefits
- Strong knowledge of Employee Benefits regulations and compliance (ERISA, COBRA, FMLA)
- Life and disability insurance license (or obtain within 4 months)
- Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products
- Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills
Qualifications
- College degree preferred
- 4+ years of experience in the employee benefits industry or related marketplace
