About This Role

This role coordinates with community-based providers to support the administration and monitoring of the Early Childhood Services Bridge Loan program, facilitating interim financing and managing ongoing communication. The coordinator also reviews and approves contract documentation for Early Childhood Education services, collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with community-based providers to support the Early Childhood Services Bridge Loan program, facilitating interim financing and managing communication.
  • Assist with the coordination, review, preparation, and communication of responses to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding community-based service providers.
  • Perform background checks, including review of PASSPort Questionnaires and Office of Equal Opportunity data.
  • Review contract packages for registration with NYC Comptroller’s Office and Panel for Education Policy approval.
  • Collaborate with DECE staff to evaluate and monitor the capacity of community-based organizations to provide Early Childhood Education and related Family Engagement support services.
  • Prepare reports and communicate workflow information to appropriate parties, tracking information with DCP systems.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor activities related to the submission, review, and internal approval of documentation from community-based providers delivering Early Childhood Education services.
  • Maintain and track information using Division of Contracts and Purchasing authorization and tracking systems.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal divisions and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities related to the duties; OR High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • At least one year of experience in community work or community centered activities related to the duties.

Qualifications

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or high school graduation (or equivalent)
  • 2 years of experience in community work or community activities related to the duties, or 6 years with high school graduation. All candidates must have at least one year of experience as described.

Nice to Have

  • Two additional years of experience in community work or community centered activities.
  • Strong ability to plan, coordinate, and monitor activities involving community-based Early Childhood Education service providers.
  • Experience reviewing and evaluating documentation related to community programs, including contract materials, provider submissions, and background review materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, organize and track data and reports using internal authorization and tracking systems.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and verbal skills.
  • Experience working in a team environment, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and ability to multitask.
  • Familiarity with NYCPS-specific enterprise systems such as FAMIS, COGNOS, CTS, and CPS.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across divisions.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in coordinating complex activities.
  • Experience supporting program monitoring, evaluation, and internal review processes.
