Dump Truck Driver

About This Role

Drive a dump truck safely and efficiently, transporting materials to jobsites and plants, while also performing general labor duties as needed for a leading asphalt and concrete restoration provider.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle, trailer and equipment inspections and complete driver's checklist
• Load and unload equipment safely, ensuring it is correctly secured on trailers
• Practice safe driving skills in all operating conditions, following all vehicular safety regulations
• Recognize and report mechanical issues with engine, brakes, and electrical systems
• Ensure material is loaded safely and efficiently, and safely transport to jobsites and/or plants
• Follow GPS to navigate to job sites and material sources in a timely manner
• Spread and dump gravel efficiently; spot truck into paver and place material as directed
• Perform non-driving, general labor duties as needed
• Provide materials' tickets to the Foreman daily
• Maintain a clean truck, including spraying down trailers and good housekeeping on all equipment
• Ensure truck is fueled each night
• Follow all safety rules and regulations and practice preventive safety measures; wear required PPE

Requirements

• Must have a CDL Class A
• Knowledge and ability to use GPS devices
• Follows all DOT requirements and traffic regulations
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to work weekends and occasional nights
• Ability to travel to various worksites
• Ability to work long hours and in all weather conditions
