This Skillbridge Internship provides a comprehensive and immersive learning experience for active duty military members transitioning to a commercial work environment. The program develops necessary skills and knowledge for a System Administrator role.
Responsibilities
- Provide beneficiaries with a thorough understanding of the AFRL/RX System Administration Team's roles and responsibilities
- Develop beneficiaries' skills and knowledge required to provide tier-2 and tier-3 technical support for an organization
- Further develop skills necessary to complete common system administration tasks in an Active Directory environment
- Introduce beneficiaries to advanced concepts and techniques including group policy, puppet, and other similar automation technologies
- Provide hands-on experience in a real-world environment to demonstrate gained skills
Requirements
- Active duty military and eligible for DOD Skillbridge
- Active secret security clearance
- Familiarity with computers (typing, mouse, Windows/macOS navigation)
- Advanced familiarity with OS topics, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and basic networking
- Familiarity with basic administration tools and methodologies (service, task, disk managers, user/group management, Active Directory concepts and tools)
