Manage the service business and lead field service engineers within an assigned district to achieve service support objectives and business plans, focusing on installation, maintenance, and repair targets. This role involves coaching and developing employees, driving process improvements, and managing team performance.
Responsibilities
- Effectively strategize and drive business objectives within the district.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the daily activities of service personnel to achieve service and business objectives (Revenue/Orders/Margin/OP).
- Communicate and defuse internal and external customer/employee situations.
- Work with other department managers to identify potential improvements in quality of services and/or support.
- Identify service, technical, and workflow skills for assessment and mentoring to the team.
- Develop and track performance objectives for the team.
- Effectively address and resolve employee issues.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills through team interactions or presentations to articulate business objectives and strategies.
- Handle district company assets including inventory, company cars, and tools.
- Communicate regularly with sales colleagues to drive business objectives.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree (A.S./A.A.S) or Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent experience
- Business acumen including budgeting, logistics, and project leadership or management
- Strong management skills to lead and direct Field Service Engineers
- Experience developing others through demonstration, coaching, and counseling
- Experience in customer-facing functions and working with cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree (A.S./A.A.S) or Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of current leadership experience managing a group, teams, and/or projects.
Nice to Have
- Experience using and/or servicing mass spectrometry or capillary electrophoresis scientific instruments
- 3+ years of current leadership experience managing a group, teams, and/or projects (Field Service or engineering preferred)
