This role involves processing District Court cases, providing counter assistance, and responding to inquiries from attorneys and the public. Key responsibilities include opening cases, entering information into a case management system, and managing court records.
Responsibilities
- Process District Court cases by opening and maintaining records
- Provide assistance and respond to inquiries from attorneys, parties, and the public
- Enter case information into the case management system
- Receipt costs, fines, and fees for court cases
- Manage court record images and documents
- Issue subpoenas and writs as required
- Process incoming and outgoing mail and packages
- Enter warrants and bond conditions into the Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN)
- Type and maintain a variety of court documents according to rules and statutes
- Conduct record searches and compile data from records
Requirements
- Two years of related coursework or advanced training
- Two years of experience in a court clerk, court, law firm, or related field
Qualifications
- Two years of coursework in paralegal studies, legal studies, criminal justice or a related field or advanced training such as that acquired in the first two or three years of college/university, technical school, or business school.
- Two years of progressively more responsible or expansive experience in a court clerk, court, law firm, or related field is required.
Nice to Have
- Ability to meet requirements for a Certified Electronic Operator within one year
