Disneyland Facilities Mechanical Engineering Intern

About This Role

The Disneyland Facilities Mechanical Engineering Intern will assist project engineers across all phases of project work, from drafting and design coordination to construction administration and closeout documentation for a variety of projects within the Disneyland Resort. This role offers opportunities to contribute to projects involving attractions, maintenance, foods, merchandise, and entertainment.

Responsibilities

• Assist project Engineers – Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical, in all phases of project work
• Perform drafting and on-site as-built documentation
• Coordinate designs with outside design consultants
• Conduct field data collection
• Execute light design and production work
• Participate in construction administration and commissioning
• Prepare closeout documentation for various types of projects ranging from minor rehabs to new facilities

Requirements

• Experience with AutoCAD, REVIT and/or BIM (Building Information Modeling)
• Strong leadership, technical and interpersonal skills
• Self-starter with demonstrated initiative
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
• Availability to work various shifts commensurate with project requirements
• Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior or Graduate student at an accredited college/university
• GPA of 3.0 or higher

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering

Nice to Have

• Prior related work experience including co-op/intern programs with a focus on architecture, engineering, or construction
• Coursework or prior work experience in Power Plant design (Chilling plants, Boiling plants)
• Coursework or prior work experience in Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) Design
• Coursework or prior work experience in Thermo, Fluid Dynamics, Chiller and Boiler plant and/or Thermodynmapics/Fluid Flow
