The Dirt Work Operator supports underground utility and boring operations by safely and efficiently operating earthmoving equipment. This role involves feeding pipe to fusion crews, monitoring bore subcontractors, and performing grading, backfilling, and site preparation.
Responsibilities
- Operate skid steers, loaders, and dozers for excavation support, grading, backfilling, and material handling
- Safely handle, stage, and align pipe for fusion operations
- Support bore subcontractors, including preparing and maintaining entry and exit pits
- Assist with site setup, housekeeping, and general jobsite support
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance
- Follow project plans, grades, and safety requirements, including utility locates and job hazard analyses
- Work with foremen, crews, and subcontractors to maintain productivity and schedule
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-5 years experience operating heavy equipment in construction environments
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver license
