Director, Surgical Services

About This Role

This role involves overseeing the surgical services department to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. The Director is responsible for staffing, planning, budget monitoring, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate a superior clinical identity by implementing evidence-based practices for patient safety and quality outcomes
• Ensure adherence to standards of care, legal, and regulatory compliance
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with all legal/regulatory standards
• Ensure efficient patient throughput and delivery of high quality, patient-centered care through volume forecasting, patient flow coordination, and admission/discharge planning
• Direct nursing practice and unit operations
• Develop policies, procedures, and nursing standards to ensure patient and family needs are assessed, met, and evaluated

Requirements

• 3+ years Director of Surgical Services experience in Acute Care
• Experience overseeing OR, Pre-Op, PACU, Endo/GI, SPD, PAT
• RN license
• BSN
• Strong perioperative operations
• Patient throughput experience

Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN/MBA preferred
• 3+ years Director of Surgical Services experience in Acute Care
