Director, Storage Infrastructure Reliability Engineering

About This Role

Lead a diverse global team responsible for the management, support, and improvement of Visa’s global storage infrastructure following the ITIL framework. This role drives reliability engineering, incident management, and continuous improvement initiatives for critical production environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a diverse global team responsible for management, support, and improvement of Visa’s global storage infrastructure
• Drive bottoms-up improvements for Storage Infrastructure Reliability Engineering (including Level-1 & Level-2 Incident management, Change management and Problem management)
• Lead crisis/incident event management incidents
• Engage with customers/partners to represent operational concerns/needs
• Mentor technical staff and drive programs to improve effectiveness and efficiency
• Establish best-practice methodologies for problem resolution in a global, 24x7, high volume, high availability, critical production environment
• Lead the development of innovative storage operations processes and tools from concept to delivery with a focus on new technologies and automation
• Provide leadership to manage demands from projects and technology upgrades
• Manage and motivate a high-performing team of senior professionals and set clear priorities
• Manage oversight of complex storage operations processes based on a combination of vendors, custom solutions, and internal resources

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience leading a large Software/Tools Development team or Storage Engineering / Operations team
• Experience leading a storage operations team for an enterprise with large volume of consumer-facing and B2B interactions
• Proven track record of driving change and transformation in storage operations processes, tools and technologies
• Prior experience in driving and leading enterprise technology and cultural transformation programs
• Experience working with highly effective engineering teams through major technology transitions
• Demonstrated understanding of tools and technologies in a storage infrastructure ecosystem
• Prior experience in multi-vendor storage technologies
• Hands-on experience in deploying large scale storage technologies
• Great communication skills and ability to drive consensus across diverse/global technology teams
• Track record in developing next generation leaders
• Demonstrated experience of metrics driven management with accountability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 13+ years of relevant work experience. Preferred: 12+ years with a Bachelor's or 8-10 years with an Advanced Degree.

Nice to Have

• Current or held advanced storage technical certification
• Experience or background with automation using Ansible and/or Python
