Lead product management for educational technology solutions, focusing on the company's Learning Management System (LMS) and data ecosystem. The Director will coordinate a team of Product Managers and collaborate with software development managers to deliver world-class products and services to customers.
Responsibilities
- Leverage expertise in admissions and student success trends, generating thought leadership content and presentations at conferences and customer meetings
- Maintain active awareness of market, competitive trends, relevant drivers, and domain topics in higher education enrollment management
- Serve as a subject matter expert for LMS products, evangelizing product vision internally and externally
- Work closely with data science, product design, engineering, QA, marketing, sales, and support teams to contribute to product delivery
- Work with Product Managers to cultivate viable roadmaps with milestones aligned to customer challenges
- Create and/or guide the execution of strategies designed to achieve company-wide and Product Organization objectives
- Inform executive-level decision-making through the collection and reporting of appropriate metrics and data
- Ensure product managers progress in their practices, coaching them to develop expertise in higher education practices and data-driven design
- Work with product area leadership to inform and manage budgeting and strategic planning
- Attend to the individual needs and career growth paths of assigned employees
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10-12 years of experience in commercial software product management or relevant industry experience
- Experience working with Agile development teams
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, including building collaboration and consensus
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work through conflict to meet objectives and maintain strong relationships
- Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with ambiguity/autonomy and capable of making sound business decisions
- Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong strategic thinking
- Business acumen and proficiency with quantitative business analysis techniques
- Strong understanding of web-based technologies and related design concepts
- Strong customer and student empathy
- Passion for education
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10-12 years of experience in commercial software product management or relevant industry experience
