This role is responsible for developing and growing a comprehensive annual giving program for a non-profit organization serving the Multiple Sclerosis community. The Director will drive sustainable year-over-year revenue growth through multi-channel fundraising strategies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a multi-channel annual giving strategy aligned with organizational revenue goals
- Set annual fundraising targets, KPIs, and segmentation strategies to maximize donor participation and total revenue
- Lead the planning and execution of various annual giving campaigns, including year-end, Giving Tuesday, restricted campaigns, and recurring giving efforts
- Develop and grow strategic donor segments such as monthly donors, new donors, and the President’s Circle (leadership)
- Collaborate with the Director of Development Operations to ensure a strong gift acknowledgment process, appeal tracking system, and data integrity
- Collaborate with the Director of Major Gifts to help grow the major gift pipeline, and align solicitations and messaging among portfolio, leadership, and mid-level donors
- Work with the Communications and Marketing team to ensure consistent messaging and develop a strong case for support for various donor segments and campaigns
- Monitor campaign performance across all channels and optimize content, cadence, and targeting to increase revenue and manage costs
- Prepare regular performance reports, dashboards, and revenue projections
- Monitor and manage the annual fund budget, ensuring cost-effective spending and strong ROI across all channels
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, business, or related field, or equivalent experience and coursework
- 3 years of experience in annual giving, direct response fundraising, or nonprofit development
- Demonstrated success managing multi-channel fundraising campaigns with measurable donor and revenue growth
- Proficiency in CRM and fundraising platforms (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce NPSP, Donor Perfect, EveryAction, Engaging Networks, Classy, etc.)
- Strong copywriting, storytelling, and editorial skills
- Analytical mindset with experience using data to guide decisions
- Excellent project management and vendor management skills
- Attention to detail / highly organized
- Able to prioritize, multitask, and follow through with minimal direction, and flexibility in handling varied job assignments
- Self-directed, organized, and proactive
- Enjoy working and collaborating with colleagues and team members
- Comfortable with receiving coaching and feedback – strives to learn and improve
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, business, or related field, or equivalent experience and coursework
- 3-5+ years of experience in annual giving, direct response fundraising, or nonprofit development
