Lead and manage safety, compliance, and training programs for a transportation company, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and driving continuous improvement in safety performance.
Responsibilities
- Implement the Transit Agency Safety Plan and Transit SSEPP for RPTA
- Lead safety and security related reporting and response to requests
- Provide complete data collection, compilation, analysis, and reporting for safety
- Coordinate and deliver all required reporting, bringing together performance trends in safety KPIs
- Ensure the location leadership team is informed of safety performance with timely alerts
- Drive continuous improvement in safety performance through collaboration and strategic initiatives
- Chair Safety and Accident Review committees
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and work-related injuries
- Oversee workers' compensation and the claims office, working with adjusters
- Effectively direct the Drug and Alcohol Program (FTA) for location to ensure compliance
- Provide training programs that promote the highest quality passenger services
- Lead the site implementation of the Safety Management System Plan
- Monitor compliance with Keolis SMS policies and procedures, conducting annual safety audits
- Oversee the location’s fatigue management program
- Promote safety-related communications and messaging to employees and the PTA
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of direct successful leadership experience managing safety and training in transportation or similar industries, of a similar size and scope
- High school diploma
- Experience developing and implementing safety program plans, conducting investigations, analyzing data, and recommending corrective actions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive material
- Ability to conduct oral presentations and relay technical information in understandable terms
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritize
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred
- 5+ years of direct successful leadership experience managing safety and training in transportation or similar industries
Nice to Have
- College degree
- Experience in PTASP, per OSHA and FTA requirements
- Experience and awareness of DOT policies, OSHA, NIMS, EPA standards and ADA requirements
- Working knowledge of adult education principles and practices
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word
