Director of Medical Imaging

About This Role

This role involves planning, organizing, and leading the entire Medical Imaging Department, overseeing all inpatient and outpatient imaging services. The Director ensures high-quality service, optimizes departmental growth and efficiency, and maintains compliance with all regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead the overall operation of the Medical Imaging Department
• Assume system-wide responsibility for all inpatient and outpatient imaging services including X-Ray, Mammography, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, and Interventional Radiology
• Provide leadership to ensure highest quality service and maximize department growth and efficiency
• Assure competency of all personnel and manage staff and resource utilization
• Prepare and manage the department budget
• Ensure compliance with all state, federal, local regulatory laws and accrediting body standards
• Collaborate effectively with system leadership and medical staff
• Develop and implement department protocols, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the Medical Director
• Develop and implement a productive QI/QA program for patient safety, regulatory compliance, and equipment maintenance
• Manage and maintain PACS/RIS function within the department

Requirements

• 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in Radiology
• ARRT Certification
• NYS license and current Registration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in healthcare related field preferred
• 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in Radiology
