About This Role

This role provides strategic and operational leadership for facility operations, equipment reliability, and capital engineering across the Adhesives Research manufacturing campus. The director ensures buildings, infrastructure, utilities, and production assets are safe, reliable, compliant, and capable of supporting current operations and long-term growth by leading and integrating Facilities, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a clear operating model defining ownership and accountability across Facilities, Maintenance, and Engineering
  • Set long-term vision for asset reliability, facility modernization, and infrastructure resilience
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of manufacturing equipment, utilities, infrastructure, buildings, and life-safety systems
  • Drive standardized practices for maintenance planning and execution, engineering project delivery, and facilities operations
  • Own the capital planning process for maintenance, facilities, and engineering scopes, including developing annual budgets and multi-year roadmaps
  • Provide executive oversight for major renovations, expansions, new equipment installations, and infrastructure upgrades
  • Champion a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, building/fire codes, and environmental requirements
  • Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing technical organization, supporting succession planning and workforce development
  • Own departmental operating and capital budgets, tracking KPIs for equipment uptime, reliability, and project performance
  • Partner with Operations, EHS, Quality, Finance, Procurement, IT, and Automation to translate technical needs into business-aligned investment strategies

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree (Chemical or Mechanical preferred)
  • 10+ years facilities and equipment engineering experience
  • 5+ years engineering management experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in concurrent management of multiple small and large scale projects
  • Expert in polymerization, mixing, coating, web handling, drying and slitting processes and equipment
  • Strong leadership, influencing, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
  • Proficiency with standard desktop computer software applications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree – preferably chemical or mechanical engineering
  • 10+ years facilities and equipment engineering, 5+ years engineering management experience

Nice to Have

  • Experienced with adhesives and/or coatings
  • Working statistical analysis and experimental design expertise
