Lead a multi-disciplinary team within a residential treatment setting for adolescents, overseeing recreation and competency programming. This role is responsible for developing creative individual competency building plans and ensuring student goals are addressed across departments.
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision to all recreation and competency staff members
- Oversee all activities and recreation programming to develop and maintain rich and varied programming both on and off site
- Work with the Competency Team to develop creative individual competency building plans for each student
- Collaborate across departments to ensure student goals, plans, and individualized needs pertaining to competency, recreation, and wellness are being adequately addressed
- Facilitate family, community, and natural support connections/permanency connections that meet the cultural and linguistic preferences of the individuals served
- Complete all documentation in a timely manner according to policies and procedures; assume responsibility for the completeness of the Student Record for assigned students
- Attend all mandatory or assigned in-service training provided to comply with annual training requirements
- Lead Competency Department meetings
- Provide orientation for new staff to ensure they understand the philosophy, policies, and procedures of the program
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field
- Experience working with specialized populations of adolescents
- Knowledgeable in growth and development of emotionally challenged, mentally ill, or adjudicated adolescents
- Maintains valid driver’s license
- Ability to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field from an accredited college or university
- Experience working with specialized populations of adolescents required. Experience working in a residential program or mental health facility preferred.
