The Director of Commercial Operations will optimize core commercial functions including sales operations, training, distribution management, and performance reporting. This role drives operational excellence and aligns sales strategy with execution for Axiota Animal Health.
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a small sales operations team focused on order fulfillment, CRM, and Power BI oversight.
- Lead sales operations strategy, including territory planning, quota setting, and incentive design.
- Develop and deliver sales performance dashboards, forecasting models, and executive/Board reporting.
- Ensure consistent execution of promotional programs, co-op marketing, and sales incentives.
- Partner with Finance, Marketing, and IT to ensure data integrity and alignment across systems.
- Oversee end-to-end distribution operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products/services.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with distribution partners and third-party logistics providers.
- Manage and mentor a small inside sales team focused on lead qualification, customer engagement, and revenue generation.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve standardized sales processes across teams.
- Develop training programs and materials to support onboarding, skill development, and performance enhancement.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in commercial operations, sales operations, or distribution management
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and inside sales
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in CRM and BI tools (e.g., Salesforce, Power BI, Tableau)
- Deep understanding of the U.S. animal health market, especially distributor and channel dynamics
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
- Strategic thinker and problem-solver, with a hands-on approach to execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in commercial operations, sales operations, or distribution management.
