This Director Finance position oversees the consolidation of actuals and HQ activities for AbbVie Operations, coordinating monthly close calendars and consolidating financial statements. The role also manages manufacturing variance deferral accounting for the U.S. and serves as the Operations business lead for BPC.
Responsibilities
- Oversee consolidations and monthly actuals reporting for the P&L, balance sheet, and specified charges
- Manage the manufacturing variance deferral accounting for the U.S., including related financial planning activities
- Serve as the BPC Business lead for the system, ensuring system performance and performing related troubleshooting activities
- Represent Operations on the Finance Master Data Council, ensuring Operations needs and point-of-view are represented in policy and projects
- Act as a first-line resource for Operations Finance teams on accounting related questions, including consultations for new contracts and audit support for sites
- Provide analyses for ad hoc or other business presentations that lend insight into key business drivers enabling operating management to adapt more appropriate tactics/strategy to meet LRP objectives
- Ensure accurate monthly reporting associated with functional strategic projects
- Responsible for delegating to and coaching a staff of employees to ensure an optimal level of support to the business and provide coaching and career development opportunities to sustain a high performing staff
Requirements
- Bachelors or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Strong accounting skills
- Solid understanding of AbbVie's accounting policies
- Strong understanding of AbbVie financial systems, including SAPS/4HANA and BPC
- Experience in a complex global organization
- 12+ years of progressive Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of management experience
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability working in a matrix organization, building strong partnerships, and accessing available resources
- High personal integrity, energy and objectivity
- Process focused with experience in implementing process improvements or other change management initiatives
- Ability for managing multiple priorities in a dynamic and challenging environment
- Experience in coaching and career development
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 12+ years of progressive Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of management experience
Nice to Have
- CPA and/or advanced degree
- Pharmaceutical sector experience
