About This Role

Lead and champion disability and absence management programs across multiple claims teams for a global company. This role focuses on optimizing operations for various leave types, fostering continuous improvement, and building strong client relationships from a remote setting.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the implementation, continuous improvement, and integration of disability and absence management programs within assigned teams
  • Represent the claim operation to assigned national clients
  • Provide proactive leadership in developing a continuous improvement culture
  • Ensure operations meet corporate guidelines, federal, state, and local law, and professional standards
  • Manage, hire, train, develop, and motivate qualified individuals, including succession planning
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends in integrated disability and absence management
  • Manage business unit to budget to meet corporate revenue objectives
  • Work with reporting and analytics to ensure key metrics are current and insightful
  • Participate in sales presentations and meetings with prospects and current accounts

Requirements

  • 8+ years progressive experience in managing integrated disability and absence management programs
  • 6+ years in an increasing supervisory or leadership capacity
  • Expertise with disability/absence best practice benchmarking and metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to establish critical relationships at all organizational levels and with external partners
  • Exceptional communication skills, change management skills, and customer focus
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated experience in building high performance teams
  • Experience interfacing and supporting complicated, middle to large national client companies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of eight years progressive experience in managing integrated disability and absence management programs, with six years in a supervisory or leadership capacity

Nice to Have

  • Employer-based experience in integrated disability and absence management
  • Leadership role in a disability/absence insurance carrier claim operation or third party administrator claim operation
  • Experience in a broader integrated health and productivity model (healthcare, on-site clinics, wellness, EAP)
  • Current membership/leadership in professional organization critical to the field
