The Director, Development Operations will significantly impact organizational and revenue growth for KIND, streamlining systems across individual and institutional giving teams, and acting as a thought partner to the Vice President, Development. This role focuses on enhancing fundraising efficiency through integrated systems and streamlined operations.
Responsibilities
- Project manage strategic initiatives from the Vice President of Development and other senior leadership
- Coordinate and track progress on cross-functional projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with goals
- Prepare agendas, materials, and follow-up for Development leadership meetings
- Propose mitigation strategies to reduce inter-departmental silos and increase collaboration
- Provide scheduling and executive assistance to the Vice President of Development
- Develop and operationalize strategies for sustainable revenue growth in partnership with the VP
- Work across fundraising teams to understand needs and determine operational support for annual goals
- Build reports and dashboards to help frontline fundraising colleagues strategically focus efforts
- Project manage fundraising reports for the Board and the Development team's annual operating/work plans
- Oversee the Development department budget, vendor contracts, and midyear reforecasting
- Partner with Finance, Communications, and other departments to streamline processes and share resources
- Collaborate on refining systems, platforms, and vehicles for fundraising and exceeding revenue goals
- Maintain and organize departmental files and donor collateral for easy access and consistent documentation
- Lead logistics for donor events and departmental staff events, both virtual and in-person
- Supervise two Development Coordinators, providing mentorship and performance feedback
- Evaluate, implement, and integrate development technologies to streamline operations and enhance fundraising capacity
- Identify opportunities for process automation and workflow optimization to increase operational efficiency
- Develop and document standard operating procedures for development operations functions
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in administration, organizational development, operations, or equivalent
- 5+ years of supervisory management experience within a nonprofit organization
- Familiarity and commitment to KIND’s mission and programmatic priorities
- Proficient in CRM systems, reporting, and administration
- Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task projects/priorities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to work on multiple deadline-oriented projects
- Demonstrated experience streamlining workflows and processes across teams
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in administration, organizational development, operations, or an equivalent focus
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory management experience within a nonprofit organization

- Experience working and communicating in a remote environment
