Perform diverse mechanical repairs on diesel trucks and trailers in a timely and professional manner, contributing to customer satisfaction and shop efficiency. This role offers opportunities for growth and specialized training in a full-range diesel repair environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform PM's and oil changes on trucks and trailers
- Grease trucks and trailers
- Perform tire services
- Perform CSA/DOT inspections
- Perform service calls and night call outs
- Conduct intermediate to advanced electrical repair and diagnose cause of failures
- Complete intermediate to advanced wheel end repair (S-cam/bushing replacement, spindle repairs, race and bearing replacement, wheel seals, etc.)
- Perform intermediate air system repair (basic diagnostics, tank replacement, air bags, leveling valves, dash valves, etc.)
- Conduct basic HVAC repair (evacuate & recharge, verify cause of failure)
- Complete basic welding
- Maintain cleanliness of shop and ensure all service equipment is in good working order
- Complete work orders with necessary customer information, labor performed, and parts used
Requirements
- Two years minimum experience as a diesel technician
- Valid driver's license and insurable to drive
- Ability to complete brake training
- Ability to complete wheel seal training
- Ability to attend HVAC, Electrical and DOT training
- Ability to get ASE, DOT, TIA and other certifications
- Able to work weekends, holidays, and as needed
- Reliable transportation and phone
- Ability to communicate in English
- Proficiency required by Tech I training program
