Die Assembler Trainee

About This Role

As a Die Assembler Trainee, you will learn to disassemble and assemble large dies or molds, hand grinding and fitting new or repaired components within existing or new dies/molds.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and assemble large dies/molds
• Hand grind and fit new or repaired components into existing or new dies/molds
• Use handheld measurement instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
• Use lifting devices (crane, forklift, hoists, etc.)
• Follow strict guidelines to achieve quality, safety, and profitability

Requirements

• Mechanically minded
• Ability to use handheld measuring devices and hand tools
• Ability to learn fit and function
• Ability to follow strict safety procedures
• Ability to safely use lifting devices (Overhead crane, forklift, etc.)

Qualifications

• No experience required, must be mechanically minded

Nice to Have

• Experience in building/fitting aluminum die cast dies or plastic injection molds
• Experience in grinding and manual milling/drilling
• Experience in welding TIG, MIG, and Laser
• Simple print reading- single component and assembly
• LEAN Manufacturing background
• Advanced problem solving skills (Root Cause Analysis, 8D, 5 Why, etc.)
