This faculty position is responsible for delivering quality education services, engaging students, fostering learning, and role modeling professionalism to prepare competent nursing students for their professional careers. It involves ensuring consistent and high-quality delivery of assigned courses within the nursing program.
Responsibilities
- Become an ATI Champion within 90 days of hire date
- Prepare course plans and materials
- Deliver course lectures and facilitate labs or clinical rotations
- Monitor equipment and supply needs
- Maintain classroom standards
- Enforce HCI policies such as attendance and dress code
- Participate in orientation, graduation, and pinning ceremonies
- Work on retention plans and program development
- Attend staff and faculty meetings
- Facilitate student engagement and assess progress in theory and performance
- Provide weekly feedback reports to leadership
- Maintain relevant licensures, certifications, and required paperwork
- Maintain a minimum of eight hours of Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) annually
- Encourage students to submit course evaluations and use feedback for improvement
- Participate in ACEN and other accreditation activities
- Comply with all governmental regulations and standards of accreditation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in nursing (BSN or equivalent)
- Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license issued by the Florida Department of Health
- Current and active Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of four (4) years of related practical work experience in subject area(s) taught
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent teaching skills and ability to manage students’ clinical and skills lab activities
- Computer literacy skills including functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage people and projects
- Knowledgeable in the course content
- Effective in directing and evaluating student learning and lab performance
- Prepared in Educational Theory and Techniques
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in nursing (BSN or equivalent) from an accredited nursing program (Required), Master’s degree with a major in nursing (MSN or equivalent) from an accredited nursing program (Preferred)
- Minimum of four (4) years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught
