As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients with renal failure under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN). You will also handle technician duties related to hemodialysis machines and ensure safety and quality protocols are followed.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment.
- Gather patient statistics before and after treatment.
- Initiate and terminate treatment during dialysis sessions.
- Monitor patients during treatment for their well-being.
- Collect patient blood samples as per physician orders.
- Prepare machines for hemodialysis treatments.
- Clean and disinfect machines after treatment.
- Conduct machine safety checks and log results for quality control.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws and regulations.
- Participate in all required staff meetings and continuing education offerings.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients
- Comfortable mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol
- Ability to distinguish all primary colors
- Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
Nice to Have
- Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA
