This role supervises Direct Support Assistants, manages scheduling, and implements residential and behavioral plans for individuals with developmental disabilities. The position involves direct service delivery and participation in community inclusion activities.
Responsibilities
- Become a trainer for CPR/First Aid or SCIP/Promote
- Supervise Direct Support Assistants (DSAs) and perform Head of Shift duties
- Schedule regular shifts, medical appointments, and manage unforeseen events like call-ins and hospital coverage
- Implement and follow residential habilitation, protective oversight, and behavior plans
- Participate, plan, and oversee community inclusion opportunities
- Manage personal funds and ensure compliance with agency Policies and Procedures, utilizing the CITRIX database
- Interact with families, providing guidance and assistance regarding their loved ones
- Oversee fire plans, drills, and evacuation procedures
- Apply agency policies and procedures regarding personnel and regulatory compliance matters
- Communicate regularly with supervisors, IRA staff, and clinicians on daily IRA operations and issues
- Act as a role model for staff and actively participate in direct service delivery for primarily total care individuals
- Attend and participate in Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and other planning meetings
- Prepare for and participate in surveys, implementing subsequent corrective actions
- Complete required paperwork timely, including incident reports and employee evaluations
Requirements
- High school or high school equivalency diploma
- 2 years of experience in the care, treatment, and habilitation of individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
