About This Role

The Development Officer will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major and principal gifts for the College of Arts and Sciences. This role involves fundraising for the College's highest development priorities and working collaboratively with the Arts and Sciences Foundation team.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit Arts and Sciences prospects for major gifts and principal gifts
  • Work collaboratively with the Arts and Sciences Foundation team
  • Report directly to a senior member of the development team at the Arts and Sciences Foundation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent presentational skills
  • Superior written communication skills
  • Superior verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of computer-related office tools and database management
  • Strong personal integrity and work ethic
  • High level of discretion, confidentiality, and ethics

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three years of experience in the area of assignment, of which at least one is supervisory or in a lead-worker capacity; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a university or major college setting
  • Successful track record in closing major, principal, and planned gifts
  • Comprehensive campaign experience
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience of fundraising staff
