About This Role

Join a dedicated legal team supporting the City's legal needs, advising City departments, the City Council, and various boards and commissions on complex legal issues.

Responsibilities

Confer with department heads and City staff regarding legal issues and make appropriate recommendations
Research legal issues and prepare opinions, ordinances, resolutions, contracts, leases, permits, and other legal documents, depending on assignment
Monitor proposed legislation and court decisions affecting municipal operations
Advise assigned departments and address complex legal issues
Support City initiatives from planning through implementation while minimizing legal risk
Provide legal support to the Human Resources Department (if experienced in labor and employment)
