About This Role

Supervise the day-to-day operations of a pediatric dental practice, including fiscal and human resources processes, while providing direct patient care and support to pediatric patients and families.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and supervise day-to-day operations of the practice and respective areas, including fiscal and human resources processes
  • Provide emotional and psychological support to pediatric patients and families
  • Assist in the delivery of patient care as needed
  • Deliver competent patient care to patients from newborn to 21 years of age through preventive dental education and treatment, nutritional and dietary education, and emotional security
  • Provide for the gingival and oral health of the patient by removing plaque and calcareous deposits from teeth and performing necessary dental x-rays
  • Assist pediatric dentist and orthodontist as needed
  • Maintain relationship and communicate with patient and family to identify needs for service, follow-up, and referral
  • Maintain hygiene instruments in good working condition
  • Assist in maintenance of dental equipment, instruments, operators, x-ray processor, sterilization equipment/procedures, lab, and dark room
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise the activities of staff to ensure adequate coverage in all areas

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of related clinical experience
  • Georgia Board of Dentistry dental hygienist license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with standard pediatric dental procedures and techniques
  • Ability to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of date of hire

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited dental hygienist program
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of related clinical experience required

Nice to Have

  • Minimum of two years management/administration experience in a healthcare setting
