The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials. This role performs procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act and assists the doctor in various dental procedures.
Responsibilities
- Support dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials
- Pass instruments and materials during procedures
- Perform procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act
- Assist the doctor in various dental procedures
- Operate x-ray equipment and take x-rays
- Prophy teeth
- Instruct patients on oral hygiene
- Chart and treatment plan with doctor
- Sterilize instruments
- Setup and prepare rooms for hygiene and treatment
- Take IO's
- Perform charting duties
- Apply sealants, if applicable
Requirements
- Certification from a dental college OR 3+ months related experience and/or training
- X-Ray Certification
- Coronal Polish Certification
- Current BLS certification
Qualifications
- Certification from a dental college OR 3+ months related experience and/or training
- Entry level with 3+ months related experience and/or training preferred.
