Deli Manager

About This Role

Direct the operation of the service deli, including supervising and training personnel. Ensure customer service and product quality, freshness, safety, and selection while managing inventory and promotional displays.

Responsibilities

• Champion Company and Division customer service programs to meet or exceed goals, handling customer relations positively.
• Supervise day to day functions of the service deli, conducting daily inspections for product quality, rotation, and sanitation.
• Assist with all service deli duties including receiving, cleaning, preparing, cooking, slicing, and packaging.
• Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays, control shrink and expenses, and complete required paperwork.
• Order, check, receive, and control inventory to ensure adequate levels, product quality, and freshness.
• Ensure proper merchandising of products by understanding and implementing schematics and signing procedures.
• Comply with retail labeling laws, federal/state regulations, and Company health and food safety standards.
• Assist customers by taking and filling special orders, making product suggestions, and engaging in suggestive selling.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of sales floor, work area, freezer, cooler, and equipment.
• Schedule service deli associates to ensure adequate coverage and service levels, training associates in proper work performance.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of all job duties within the Service Deli Department, including food preparation.
• Strong communication skills, leadership and interpersonal skills, and ability to manage people.
• Knowledge of employment laws and workplace practices.
• Understanding of Company practices and Service Deli Department policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of product variety, bakery standards, perishability, food safety, safety and sanitation procedures.
