Decatur County Extension Director

About This Role

This role involves providing leadership for extension unit activities, developing and delivering educational programs in agriculture, natural resources, and 4-H youth development, and building strong community relationships to address local needs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with local staff and board members to provide leadership for extension unit activities.
• Develop annual budgets, secure extramural funds, and manage financial reporting.
• Handle legal responsibilities of the local extension unit.
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate local unit staff.
• Plan for office space, equipment, and technology.
• Work with stakeholders to develop comprehensive programming addressing local issues.
• Maintain strong relationships with county commissioners and key decision-makers.
• Lead development, implementation, and evaluation of research-based educational programming.
• Provide research-based educational programming related to agriculture and natural resources.
• Implement 4-H youth development programs for school-aged youth, including volunteer and community partnership development.
