Day Shift Maintenance Supervisor

About This Role

Supervise day-shift operations at a baking solutions manufacturing plant, ensuring timely pan processing, employee adherence to procedures, and performing hands-on preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on preventative maintenance
• Conduct break/fix repairs on hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, sensors, and 480 wiring
• Ensure the timely processing of pans throughout the production process
• Work closely with the Plant Manager to schedule shift times
• Communicate effectively with the Plant Manager using written and verbal skills
• Hold employees accountable and ensure all follow correct procedures
• Schedule trucking and shift start times in the absence of the Plant Manager
• Complete work-orders
• Ensure die molds are ready for upcoming production runs
• Check and adjust specific gravity of glaze material
• Make mechanical repairs when possible
• Responsible for plant housekeeping, both inside and outside
• Check the first pan glazed for proper coverage and make adjustments
• Ensure trucks are loaded correctly and pan count is accurate
• Constantly check the quality of the entire process
• Ensure all employees utilize proper PPE at all times
• Perform and document required safety checks
• Immediately notify the Plant Manager or supervisor of any quality issues
• Report unsafe conditions to the Plant Manager immediately and correct problems if possible

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, material safety data sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, company handbook, and procedure manuals
• Ability to regularly stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to finger, handle, or feels objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk, hear, taste and smell
• Ability to lift and/or move more than 75 pounds

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
