This role will support the Minnesota Department of Education by improving data documentation, modernizing data processes, and creating replicable data reporting. The position directly contributes to the sustainability and accuracy of the department's data support systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide recommendations and standardize data documentation, including data dictionaries
- Gather information to update and create data dictionaries for MDE, SLEDS, and ECLDS
- Complete alignment with Common Education Data Standards (CEDS) for major MDE data collections
- Help create replicable queries and data reporting processes
Requirements
- Enrollment in a post-secondary or graduate program in data science, computer science, mathematics, business administration, education or a related field that involves quantitative methods
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint)
Qualifications
- Enrollment in a post-secondary or graduate program in data science, computer science, mathematics, business administration, education or a related field that involves quantitative methods
Nice to Have
- Experience using statistical programs or programming languages (Python, SQL, SAS, R, SPSS)
- Experience with qualitative analysis programs (NVivo, Dedoose)
- Experience creating documentation for others to use
- Experience communicating and sharing results to others
- Experience summarizing research articles and reports
- Familiarity with education, health, social programs (Qualtrics, Alchemer)
- Experience with data visualizations programs (Tableau, Power BI)
