Lead a team of data analysts to transform complex datasets into actionable insights, driving effective decision-making to help end homelessness. This role focuses on operational delivery, efficiency improvements, and direct people leadership within the Data Services team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Analytics team, establishing clear roles, expectations, workflows, and performance standards.
- Drive operational maturity through documentation, prioritization frameworks, capacity planning, and continuous improvement.
- Lead the identification and implementation of automation opportunities across analytics workflows.
- Establish repeatable, documented processes that reduce manual effort, increase reliability, and improve team efficiency.
- Oversee analytic initiatives, ensuring data accuracy, interpretability, and alignment with standards.
- Define project scope, timelines, and deliverables while coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Serve as a bridge between analytics, data integrations, product, and customer-facing teams.
- Actively engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide guidance on data interpretation.
- Manage analytics initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and adherence to standards.
- Complete ad-hoc projects as assigned to support team and operational objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a closely related quantitative field.
- 8+ years of progressive relevant experience within a data-intensive environment.
- 3+ years in a formal people leadership role managing direct reports.
- Solid understanding of data systems, including data relationships and data modeling.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Proven planning and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in SQL, Looker, including the ability to write complex queries and stored procedures.
- Ability to work in a remote work environment effectively.
- Skilled in MariaDB/MySQL database management systems.
- Skilled in data analytics and visualization tools suchs Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Excellent understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a closely related quantitative field.
- 8+ years of progressive relevant experience working within a data-intensive environment (IT/Data Analytics/Reporting), including a minimum of 3+ years in a formal people leadership role managing direct reports.
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in a relevant area.
- Experience with Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), particularly Clarity Human Services.
- Skilled in agile development methodologies and project management tools such as JIRA or Trello.
