Cut Stone Finisher

About This Role

As a Cut Stone Finisher, you will apply finishing processes to ornamental stone facings and surfaces according to work order specifications. You will utilize hand chisels and abrasive stones to create desired finishes and polish stone to a lustrous shine.

Responsibilities

• Participate in mandatory stretching exercise program
• Receive direction and work orders from supervisor
• Verify that tools and equipment are in proper working condition
• Perform daily routine maintenance inspections of equipment
• Keep work area clean and orderly
• Follow all safety regulations
• Report labor/machine time to complete operation
• Use appropriate measuring devices to ensure proper size and quality of finished product
• Inspect material for defects and take corrective action to repair if possible
• Perform finishing processes on stone including rock facing, bush hammering, sanding, chop sawing and using flame
• Fix and repair holes and imperfections in stone with glue and patch mix
• Wrap, package and band finished product for shipping

Requirements

• Detail oriented
• Basic math skills (addition and subtraction)
• Ability to read and write English
• General understanding of MSHA 30 CFR subparts E Explosives
• Ability to read seams in ledge
• Product Knowledge

Qualifications

• Finishing experience preferred, but entry level is accepted.
