Perform CT and diagnostic x-ray examinations at Diley Ridge Medical Center, ensuring quality control, patient safety, and effective communication with medical staff and patients. This role is crucial for providing diagnostic services in a community-focused medical setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform CT and diagnostic x-ray examinations upon order of physician
- Analyze CT and diagnostic x-ray examinations for quality control purposes
- Prepare completed exams for interpretation by a radiologist
- Operate power injection equipment, image processing equipment, and PACS equipment
- Administer oral and intravenous contrast
- Perform non-technical tasks and indirect patient care activities like patient transport, movement, and positioning
- Communicate pertinent clinical information to appropriate members of the patient care team and department personnel
- Keep patient and family appraised/updated with strong positive communication
- Confer with Registered Nurses and physicians relative to procedure and patient preparation
- Provide patient and family education relative to the procedure being performed
- Follow established guidelines for Risk Management, Organizational Integrity programs, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Follow guidelines for radiation safety as outlined in the Radiation Safety Policy Manual
- Enter patient charges and correct charge errors
- Document accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with documentation standards
- Utilize computer systems appropriate to the area effectively, including internet and intranet
Requirements
- Graduate of a Radiology Technology Program
- Registered as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
- Valid State of Ohio Radiological License
- Current CPR certification
Qualifications
- Graduate of a Radiology Technology Program
- Prior experience as a CT Technologist preferred
