Critical Care RN

About This Role

The Critical Care RN provides patient assessment, critical nursing care, and transport services as part of the Critical Care Response Transport Team. This role involves supervising patient care during transport, operating emergency vehicles safely, and maintaining strict confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient assessment, critical nursing care, and transport services to patients
• Supervise patient care, treatment, and assessment during transport
• Provide excellent patient care
• Perform safe lifting and transferring of patients
• Operate emergency vehicles safely
• Adhere to company policies
• Complete documentation accurately
• Respond to dispatch instructions
• Maintain safety standards
• Participate in continuing education
• Keep vehicles and stations clean
• Maintain equipment and supplies
• Communicate effectively
• Maintain strict confidentiality

Requirements

• Active and unencumbered RN license
• Certified in ACLS and PALS prior to hire
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when necessary
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and stressful environment
• Ability to calculate weight and volume ratios and read small print
• Ability to read and converse in English
• Ability to read road maps, street signs, and address numbers
• Ability to document information in writing in the prescribed format
• Ability to learn, use, and be proficient in all patient care equipment
• Ability to understand and retain instructions in a timely and accurate manner

Qualifications

• RN license. BSN preferred.
• Prefer 3 years of experience in a critical care or emergency department environment.

Nice to Have

• Certified CEN and/or CCRN
• Patient Transport Experience
• BSN
