Construction Safety Specialist

About This Role

This role involves developing and maintaining site-specific safety programs, conducting inspections, and leading safety training on commercial and industrial construction projects in Southern Florida. The specialist will champion worker health and safety, ensuring OSHA compliance and protecting every team member.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain site specific safety programs and policies for construction projects
• Perform regular job site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
• Lead weekly Toolbox Talks, safety training, and safety stand downs
• Prepare Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and hazard documentation
• Coordinate and review subcontractor safety compliance documentation
• Manage safety records and digital documentation using the company safety platform
• Serve as the point of contact for client safety auditors and compliance reviews
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and prepare clear, accurate reports
• Promote and enforce company safety standards and OSHA compliance
• Stay up to date on OSHA rules and construction safety best practices

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience on commercial or industrial work
• OSHA 30 Hour and OSHA 510 certifications required
• Strong understanding of construction hazards and risk mitigation
• Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish, both written and verbal
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)
• Valid driver license and reliable transportation for job site visits

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience on commercial or industrial work

Nice to Have

• Aerial Work Platform Trainer certification
• Experience with web based safety management systems
• Formal adult training or facilitation certification
