Concrete Finisher

About This Role

Smooth and finish concrete surfaces to specified texture and depth, set forms, edge, and bullfloat, while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Pour and spread concrete to specified depth and workable consistency
• Use a float to bring water to surface and produce a soft topping
• Remove rough and defective spots from concrete surfaces
• Use straightedge, float, or power screed to flatten, smooth and form freshly poured concrete
• Patch holes with new concrete or epoxy compound
• Apply hardening and sealing mixes to cure concrete services
• Strengthen concrete by installing reinforcement rods
• Use edging tools, jointers, and straightedges to sprinkle joints and edges and mold expansion joints
• Inspect forms for appropriate structure and set to chosen pitches
• Direct subgrade work, mixing of concrete and set forms

Requirements

• 5 years of concrete finishing experience or completion of apprenticeship program
• Ability to read, understand, and use measuring and leveling tools
• Clean driving record
• Working knowledge of construction site safety, truck maintenance, and road safety regulations
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening

Qualifications

• A high school diploma, GED, or trade school certificate is preferred
• 5 years of concrete finishing experience or completion of apprenticeship program
