This COMSEC Manager II role supports Department of Defense (DoD) agencies and Special Access Programs (SAPs) by managing COMSEC equipment and classified keying material. The position involves day-to-day support for Collateral, SCI, and SAP activities, ensuring compliance with COMSEC requirements and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Conduct secure equipment and classified keying material inventories, inspections, and other COMSEC-related support and oversight functions
- Perform installation of secure telephone equipment (STE) and coordinate delivery of encryption devices and keying material to IT specialists
- Administer a Top Secret inventory and document control program for COMSEC equipment and materials
- Conduct inventories per agency policy and report discrepancies to government customers
- Courier classified information and author receipts for classified materials
- Ensure Automated Information Systems Security requirements related to COMSEC duties are complied with
- Ensure proper physical security accreditation has been issued by designated Program Security Officers for supported facilities
- Train personnel in COMSEC procedures and the use of related equipment
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance for Team Members
Requirements
- Active DOD TS/SCI Clearance
- Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information
- Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph
- Strong understanding of COMSEC accountability and procedures for issue/receipt of COMSEC equipment/materials
- Familiarity with COMSEC requirements and procedures for acquisition, maintenance, operations, and disposition of COMSEC equipment
- Ability to perform regular moderate lifting (approximately 25 – 40 pounds)
- Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Some Special Access Program (SAP) experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related area OR Associate’s degree in a related area + 2 years’ experience OR equivalent experience (4 years)
- 5-7 years related experience
