The Computer Technician maintains the county's computer network, provides technical assistance to end users, and implements and services IT equipment. This role is crucial for supporting the IT infrastructure and ensuring smooth operations for county departments.
Responsibilities
- Manage Help Desk operations through ticket systems
- Assist with training personnel on computer hardware and software usage
- Maintain, edit, and oversee SharePoint webpages
- Obtain vendor quotes for departments
- Answer phone calls and emails regarding technical issues
- Maintain working knowledge of all department operations to proactively effect change
- Assist with imaging, deploying, and backing up computer systems
- Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Create user accounts and coordinate email setup
- Assist with application setup
- Assist with password resets for Microsoft Windows and AS400
Requirements
- Associate degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent education and experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Nice to Have
- A+ certification or equivalent
