This role involves working closely with law enforcement to provide crucial mental health, substance use, and social services support to individuals interacting with the police. The specialist will handle emergency triaging, supportive counseling, care coordination, and resource connections, contributing to community development and safety.
Responsibilities
- Work side by side with law enforcement officers
- Provide mental health support to people who have contact with law enforcement
- Provide substance use support to people who have contact with law enforcement
- Provide social services support to people who have contact with law enforcement
- Provide emergency triaging
- Provide supportive counseling
- Provide care coordination
- Provide resource connection
- Work collaboratively with community partners
Requirements
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree
- Solid under pressure
- Solution focused critical thinking skills
- Invested in community development and community safety
- Capable of working collaboratively
