Commercial Loan Officer / Commercial Banker

About This Role

Proactively build, develop, and manage a commercial loan portfolio while ensuring and maintaining its asset quality for a credit union. You will be a trusted voice for members, identifying and aligning them with appropriate financial products and services.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing members
• Develop, expand, and service commercial loan portfolio
• Solicit new business and grow loan portfolio member base
• Answer questions related to business loans and account activity
• Determine members' business and personal financial services needs and cross-sell credit union services and products
• Complete underwriting, establish, and negotiate terms for credit extension, including costs, repayment terms, and collateral
• Ensure sound analysis and lending procedures are followed, acting in compliance with policies and regulatory requirements
• Evaluate information provided by business borrowers and assist them with business management and financial matters
• Verify accuracy of business loan amounts and repayment terms on approved applications
• Process commercial loan files, including reviewing documents, obtaining title insurance, appraisals, inspections, and preparing for closing

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as a commercial or business loan officer
• Comfortable soliciting new business and maintaining current business relationships
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent formal certifications

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience as a commercial or business loan officer
