Commercial Insurance Account Manager

About This Role

Manage an assigned book of business for commercial lines insurance clients, ensuring account retention and supporting new business. This role involves coordinating customer service activities, policy management, and maintaining system accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned book of business, ensuring account retention and supporting new business
• Coordinate day-to-day administrative and customer service activities
• Resolve complex issues and ensure no errors or omissions in services
• Maintain technical competence and industry expertise in commercial insurance
• Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis
• Manage policy expirations and renewals, including client research, submissions, negotiation, and proposal presentation
• Monitor accounts receivable reports and collect outstanding balances
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy
• Monitor and maintain activity/suspense for timely completion
• Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload and issues

Requirements

• 3+ years of account management experience or 5+ years in the insurance industry
• Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
• Active Property & Casualty licensing
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry
