Commercial Insurance Account Manager

About This Role

Manage an assigned book of commercial insurance business, ensuring account retention and supporting new business. This role involves coordinating day-to-day administrative and customer service activities, resolving complex client issues, and maintaining accurate records within agency systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain technical competence and industry expertise in commercial insurance
• Direct daily activities of the account management team
• Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis
• Manage policy expirations and renewals, conducting client research and negotiating coverages
• Monitor accounts receivable reports and collect outstanding balances
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy
• Monitor and maintain activity/suspense to ensure timely completion
• Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload status and issues
• Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipating client needs and responding quickly to service requests
• Stay updated on company policies and procedures and seek best practices for continuous improvement

Requirements

• 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry
• Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
• Required active property & casualty licensing
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• High School Diploma (or equivalent)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry
