Commercial Insurance Account Manager

About This Role

This role involves managing an assigned book of commercial insurance business, focusing on retention and supporting new business. The Account Manager will coordinate day-to-day administrative and customer service activities, resolving complex issues for clients in General, Construction, and Transportation sectors.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned book of commercial insurance business
• Ensure account retention and support new business development
• Coordinate day-to-day administrative and customer service activities
• Resolve complex customer issues and ensure accuracy
• Maintain technical competence and industry expertise
• Handle policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis
• Manage policy expirations and renewals, including client research and negotiation
• Monitor accounts receivable and collect outstanding balances
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms for data accuracy
• Communicate regularly with the account team regarding workload and issues

Requirements

• 3+ years of account management experience or 5+ years in the insurance industry
• Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
• Active property & casualty licensing
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry

Nice to Have

• Professional designation (CIC or equivalent)
