Commercial Insurance Account Manager

About This Role

Manage an assigned book of commercial lines insurance business, focusing on retention and supporting new business growth. Coordinate daily administrative and customer service activities, resolve complex issues, and ensure data accuracy in systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain technical competence and industry expertise in commercial insurance
• Direct daily activities of the account management team
• Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis
• Manage policy expirations and renewals for assigned book of business
• Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals
• Monitor accounts receivable reports and take action on delinquent accounts
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy
• Monitor and maintain activity/suspense to ensure timely completion
• Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload status
• Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipate needs, and respond quickly to service requests

Requirements

• 3+ years of account management experience
• Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
• Active Property & Casualty licensing
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry

• Professional designation (CIC or equivalent)
