Commercial Insurance Account Manager

About This Role

Manage an assigned book of commercial insurance business, ensuring account retention and supporting new business. This role coordinates daily administrative and customer service activities, resolves complex issues, and proactively anticipates client needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned book of business, ensuring account retention and supporting new business
• Coordinate day-to-day administrative and customer service activities
• Resolve complex issues and ensure no errors or omissions in policy management
• Maintain technical competence and industry expertise in insurance
• Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis
• Manage policy expirations and renewals
• Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals for renewals
• Monitor accounts receivable reports and take action on delinquent accounts
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms for data accuracy
• Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team

Requirements

• 3+ years of account management experience OR 5+ years in the insurance industry
• Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
• Active Property & Casualty licensing
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry

• Professional designation (CIC or equivalent)
