Manage an assigned book of commercial insurance business, ensuring account retention and supporting new business. This role involves coordinating administrative and customer service activities, resolving complex issues, and maintaining overall account integrity for clients primarily in General, Construction, and Transportation sectors.
Responsibilities
- Maintain technical competence and industry expertise in commercial insurance
- Direct daily activities of the account management team
- Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis
- Manage policy expirations and renewals
- Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals
- Monitor accounts receivable reports and collect outstanding balances
- Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy
- Monitor and maintain activity/suspense to ensure timely completion
- Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload status and issues
- Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipate needs, and respond quickly to service requests
Requirements
- 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry
- Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
- Active Property & Casualty licensing
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry
Nice to Have
- Professional designation (CIC or equivalent)
